Manchester Talent Match invited us to their Mixer Event!
Manchester Talent Match hosted a great Mixer Event where lots of young people and Talent Coaches came together to inspire and motivate.
We kindly got invited along as guests to meet other people and hear the success Manchester have had.
It was hosted at the Lowry Theatre and we were very impressed when we saw how lovely the Compass Room had been decorated for the event.
We enjoyed a lovely two course meal, took part in ice breaker games and the Black Country Mentees got to see some friends from Manchester they had previously met at other events.
We watched short videos about how Talent Match has really improved the lives of individuals. We heard the touching stories of the hardships some young people have faced but thankfully overcome with the help of their Talent Coaches and peers. We listened to success stories of people reaching their goals and how they believed others could too with hard work, support and determination.
We each received a raffle ticket but sadly we didn’t win any of the great prizes on offer…but we did win the quiz- it was a tie breaker question too! So we were very happy and we didn’t go away empty handed!
To bring the event to a close we heard a very inspirational speech from Coronation Street Actor – Cherylee Houston who plays Izzy Armstrong. She told us about the knock backs she had faced but how she persevered and carried on anyway to get to where she is today.
Overall the event was another great opportunity to meet others involved with Talent Match. The key thing that we took away from the event is that everyone taking part in Talent Match, no matter where they are in the country, are not alone and there are lots of people who can relate to their story.
We look forward to seeing Manchester TM again soon!
